Community Research Partners conducted an in-depth analysis of foreclosure data and provided detailed profiles of target neighborhoods for the Columbus and Franklin County Foreclosure Working Group. CRP's work was funded by Enterprise Community Partners Columbus. CRP Executive Director Roberta Garber and Steve Gladman, Executive Director of the Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County, presented the plan to the Health, Housing and Human Services Committee of Columbus City Council on October 15th.
At the meeting Steve Gladman noted that he has seen a great deal of foreclosure research presented at regional and national meetings, but "Clearly the work of Community Research Partners is the best research to date." The advisory plan describes strategies for eight target areas, which represent three neighborhood types: 1) City-County Interface Areas; 2) Converging Investment Neighborhoods; and 3) Weak Market Neighborhoods. The plan notes that these strategies could be applied to other areas of the city and county with characteristics similar to the target areas. The Working Group report can be found below.
